Beauty Standards

Have you ever thought about how we define beauty? How does the movie industry or social media industry creates and upgrades beauty standards over time?

Or even how we find someone beautiful or attractive?

We keep saying that we should see the inner beauty before judging anyone? What if, we actually do that without being aware of it?

How many of us found Gerald Butler attractive without watching his movie 'PS I Love you'? I did not. I thought he's okay and I did not understand why people kept telling me he is hot. Then I watched this movie, where he loved unconditionally, and his image was created as a beautiful beautiful person, when he was only acting. Now, I would watch anything he's into. Now I find anyone mildly looking like him, attractive. I watched so many women on social media, who were said to be average looking and once they shared their story, they suddenly became this fierce and gorgeous looking women. Looking at that new perception of beauty the people have created, the entertainment industry found more similar physical looking females and put a spotlight on them.

So may be, the story behind each and every person does create a difference of perception of beauty over time.

If it's still not clear, let me tell you steps to try this out-

Take 1 average(current perception) looking person. Give him/her a strong story, a story which will create love and inspiration in people's minds. A perception of beauty is now created in people's minds. Now, find similar looking people and advertise your brand or post on social media or whatever your work is. People's minds will accept that as a new beauty standard because in our minds, we can't tell a difference between physical beauty and inner beauty.

Another example is, Winnie Harlow. a few years ago she was stuggling with her vitiligo because the people's perception of beauty did not include patch on skin. Then she shared her story through talks and shows and different  platforms and she became powerful and fierce and gorgeous. And now, we stop and look, specially when we see a model with Vitiligo because we find them gorgeous and different, even when they don't have a strong story. You see what happened here?

Our perception has come from the inner strength and beauty and our story.

So what's your story?

Luck

What does luck mean to you? Is luck a coincidence? Is luck hereditary? Is being lucky important? Is it the only way to be successful? Can you choose luck? Can you get lucky by wearing gemstones? Well, if it answers any of the above, and you must have heard this before, we make our own luck, just as we make our own destiny. Luck is, when we move our butt. When you returned that extra money a person gave you, which years later, he remembered and provided you with the job you have been looking for desperately. Luck is, when you have done the certification which at that time seemed of no use, and years later pays you more than anyone else. Luck is, when you have been kind and everyone else has been kinder to you, because the universe works that way. Luck is, when you randomly talked to the person on the next table and he starts to give you opportunities which you were looking for. Luck is, when you learnt good deed from your parents and replicate them. Luck is, when you have don...

My experience with Neuro-Linguistic Programming and Spirituality

We often underestimate our minds, we forget that we are more than our bodies. I read in the book, Think and Grow Rich by Oliver Napoleon Hill, that we have access to any and every secret we might want to discover, through our subconscious mind. The question arises- how! But first let us discuss what is Neuro-Linguistic Programming. Quoting from the site  https://neurolinguisticprogramming.com/  "Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) is defined as the study of the structure of subjective experience and what can be calculated from that and is predicated upon the belief that all behavior has structure." In my words, NLP adds structure to our perception of this world. It provides us models, tools and techniques to make the best use of our individual minds and to train it to success. NLP shows how the mind works to make the most out of it, whether you want to lead a simple life or become a millionaire or  even both. For instance, "Sleep over it" is not just a phrase...

Goal Vs Outcome

An outcome would be, to earn a crore rupees in the next year. A goal would be the idea to work upon which will get you that outcome, for example, to make a course and sell it to a crore people. Many people do not understand the difference between these two and hence end up only having an outcome in mind. A goal is the way to achieve that outcome you desire.  Goal is action oriented and something you deliver to the world in form of an idea or a product or a service. Any outcome you desire is an output of give and take. You can not expect an outcome if you do not deliver something. Find that something within you and unlock your potential. Create it into a service or a product or should I say an asset. Wrap it in a brilliant deal that no one can deny. Once you give that to the world, the world will bring you your desired outcome. You need steps? 1. Write down what do you desire in life. This sets the outcome. (For example, I want to earn a million) 2. Make an extensive list of w...
